Should i highlight / or dye the bottom of my hair?

I'm thirteen and i've been thinking of highlighting my hair. My hair is black, but looks like a really dark brown in the sun. i was thinking of highlighting it a light brown or a blond. Am i too young?? People in my school highlight or dye all their hair...i was either going to highlight my hair or dye the bottom only. Help??Should i highlight / or dye the bottom of my hair?
I'm not that much older than you and I remember when I was your age how many girls dyed their hair...it didn't turn out that well, if you do dye it try a really close colour so that it looks natural. It's not the best thing for hair but if you really want it you can try it, just don't overdo it :)
