My friend is going to be professionally highlighting my hair in a few weeks, need to do allover color first?

My hair is currently colored and highlighted. Can I highlight over all of this for summer or do I have to color it all first?My friend is going to be professionally highlighting my hair in a few weeks, need to do allover color first?

Do not color it first. You will only make your hair more damaged when you highlight it again. Just let your friend be the stylist. I am sure he/she knows.
